(LEFT) Huntsville City Councilman Bill Kling presented certificates of honor to Kiyan and Yanik Simon on Thursday, February 27th, during the Huntsville City Council meeting. The brothers, who secured Alabama 7A state titles, were recognized for their outstanding achievements and dedication to the sport.

HUNTSVILLE, AL – The Huntsville City Council recognized two outstanding young athletes, Kiyan and Yanik Simon, for their exceptional achievements in high school wrestling during its meeting on February 27.

Councilman Bill Kling presented certificates of honor to the brothers, both of whom secured titles in the Alabama 7A Wrestling State Championship. Kiyan Simon finished the season with an impressive 33-1 record, earning back-to-back state titles, while Yanik Simon remained undefeated throughout the season, cementing his legacy as a four-time state champion.

The council also passed a resolution commending the Simons for their dedication, discipline, and success in the sport. Their victories bring pride to their family, Huntsville High School, and the entire Huntsville community.

The recognition was part of the council’s Special Recognitions and Resolutions segment, which honors outstanding individuals and their contributions to the community.

With their hard work and dedication, Kiyan and Yanik Simon continue to raise the bar for high school wrestling in Alabama.
