AAMU Names VP for Research and Economic Development

Assuming Duties August 1

After a national search and competitive review process by an AAMU search and selection committee, AAMU is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Majed El-Dweik as the Vice President of Research and Economic Development, effective August 1, 2022. Dr. El-Dweik currently serves as the Dean and 1890 Director of Cooperative Research and Extension, Director for the Center of Nanotechnology, and Professor of Life and Physical Sciences in the College of Agriculture, Environmental and Human Science at Lincoln University, Jefferson City, MO.  

Dr. El-Dweik has served in his current positions at Lincoln University since 2019, but he began his career at the University as an Assistant Professor in 2007. Prior to starting his career at Lincoln University, Dr. El-Dweik worked as a Project Director at the University of Missouri.

Dr. El-Dweik received his B.S. in Electrical & Computer Engineering and his Ph.D. in Biological Engineering from the University of Missouri.

The Division of Research & Economic Development consists of the offices of Governmental Affairs, Relations and Communications; Institutional Planning, Research and Effectiveness; Sponsored Programs; Compliance, Project Initiative Assistance and Intellectual Property; AAMU-RISE Foundation; and the AAMU Community Development Corporation.
