HUMBLE, Texas — Alabama A&M University bowler Michele Westmoreland delivered a standout performance at the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) West Regional, finishing second overall and leading the Bulldogs during competition at AMF Diamond Lanes.
Westmoreland averaged 196.7 pins over 14 matches, recording a total pinfall of 2,754, placing her among the tournament’s elite. She was the only Alabama A&M bowler to finish in the Top 5, trailing only Jackson State’s Paige Hubert, who claimed the top spot with 2,927 pins.
Other Bulldog performances included:
- Rose Ugbinada, 9th place (182.1 average)
- Nila Dulcio, 12th place (175.9)
- Alexis Orchard, 22nd
- Samantha Mason, 38th
As a team, Alabama A&M finished the weekend 6–8, placing seventh overall in the eight-team field. Jackson State captured the SWAC West Regional title with a dominant 12–2 record, while Alabama State and Texas Southern tied for second at 9–5.
On the final day of competition, the Bulldogs went 1–3, earning a win over Prairie View A&M while falling to Florida A&M, Southern, and Jackson State.
