HUNTSVILLE, Ala. __ Alabama A&M senior infielder Venice Sanders will represent the Bulldog softball team this offseason in the 2023 Minority Softball Prospects (MSP) HBCU All Star Game, as she was selected due to her performance during 2023.

Sanders is coming off an All-SWAC conference selection in the 2023 season, the First-Team first baseman, was near the top of the conference in multiple statistical categories all season long, highlighted by her league leading 50 runs batted in, 1.424 on-base percentage, and .910 slugging percentage.

The senior’s 56 hits were the most hits by a single player since the 2018 season, which landed her in second in the SWAC along with scoring 34 runs and hitting 11 homers to also lead the program. The Birmingham native was an essential piece to the team’s success this season as she tallied 18 multi-hit games and 12 games with multiple RBIs, while maintaining the second-highest batting average on the year at .425.

Her accomplishments will be recognized at the MSP HBCU All Star Game Saturday June 3, where the top 50 HBCU talent in Division 1, Division 2, NAIA and Junior College will participate. The event will take place at Coolray Field, home of the Gwinnett Stripers, a Triple-A affiliate team of the Atlanta Braves.
