SPEAKIN’ OUT NEWS
Spring is set to arrive a little early in Athens as local businesses prepare to welcome shoppers for the annual Boutique Crawl on March 7 and March 14 in the historic downtown district.
The two-day event, hosted by Athens Main Street, will spotlight clothing and gift shops across downtown, offering special promotions, new seasonal merchandise and festive touches designed to create a fun and welcoming shopping experience.
Executive Director Tere Richardson said the Boutique Crawl is about more than shopping — it’s about supporting local entrepreneurs and strengthening community connections.
“We’re thrilled to celebrate the arrival of spring with our downtown boutique owners,” Richardson said. “This Boutique Crawl is a wonderful opportunity for our community to discover the unique shopping experiences that make downtown Athens special. Supporting these local businesses means investing in the heart of our city.”
Participating boutiques will showcase their latest spring collections, featuring fresh styles, vibrant colors and updated trends. Gift shops will also offer home décor, accessories and specialty items to help shoppers refresh their homes and wardrobes after the winter season.
Organizers say the event provides a boost to small businesses while encouraging residents to explore and rediscover downtown Athens.
As an added incentive, shoppers who spend $25 or more at participating boutiques on either event day can enter to win a $500 downtown shopping spree. Entry links will be available in stores and online. Receipts must be submitted by midnight on March 14, and the winner will be announced shortly after the event.
Visitors can also enjoy festive photo card displays placed throughout downtown, creating colorful backdrops and shareable moments for families and friends.
The Boutique Crawl is presented by Dream Key Real Estate with additional support from Redstone Federal Credit Union.
Organizers encourage residents and visitors alike to shop local, celebrate spring and experience the charm of downtown Athens.
