Pablo Ruiz Crespo, a senior double majoring in physics and mathematics, was recently highlighted for earning a $10,000 Licensing International Foundation Scholarship. Originally from Spain, Crespo was recognized for his dedication to both academics and the licensing industry, joining an elite group of students worldwide committed to advancing the field of brand licensing.

“Receiving the scholarship was a turning point for me,” he sayds. “It affirmed my career path and filled me with confidence and determination to pursue my goals.”

As part of the Scholarship Program, Crespo received access to resources, mentorship and networking opportunities. The scholarship funds will support his educational expenses as he continues his studies. Crespo says his time on The Hill has been transformative.

“As an international student, I chose Alabama A&M University for its diverse community, strong academic programs, and welcoming environment that supports growth and innovation,” Crespo explained. “My experience here has been filled with academic challenges, leadership opportunities, and a supportive community that has helped me grow personally and professionally.”

He reflected further on his personal development, saying, “I’ve learned resilience, adaptability, and the importance of building meaningful connections, qualities that will guide me in my professional journey.”

The Licensing International Foundation’s mission is to nurture the next generation of licensing leaders by awarding scholarships to students from around the globe. Its programs aim to equip recipients with critical skills in brand development, intellectual property, and product licensing.

“Through the program, I gained insights into the licensing industry, including contract negotiation, brand strategy, and the value of networking and mentorship,” Crespo explained.

Licensing International, headquartered in New York, is a leading advocate for the licensing industry. Its initiatives focus on empowering students interested in careers spanning business, marketing, design, and other licensing-related fields.

Set to graduate in May 2025, Crespo is exploring two potential paths for his future. One option involves pursuing a master’s degree that combines his technical expertise with licensing, marketing, and product development. Alternatively, he may continue his journey in STEM with a focus on physics.

“Regardless of the path I choose, I am committed to continuously enhancing my skills in these areas,” Crespo said. “Receiving the Licensing International Foundation Scholarship has been an incredible experience, inspiring me to dream bigger and contribute to the licensing field with passion and innovation.”
