A 35-year-old Mobile woman faces four counts of chemical endangerment of a child and other offenses after authorities discovered a 3-year-old child inside her house on Sunday carrying a blue backpack with cocaine inisde.

Tierra T. Hill of 157 Harvey Court, also faces charges of trafficking cocaine, possession of marijuana 2nd degree and tampering withy physical evidence.

According to the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office, investigators arrested Hill after receiving reliable confidential information that she had a large amount of drugs at her Mobile home.

Hill, on Sunday, was seen leaving the house where she was followed until a marked sheriff’s vehicle conducted a traffic stop and found approximately 1.5 kilograms of cocaine, a small amount of marijuana, and a handgun.

At the 1957 Harvey Court residence, authorities discovered the child wearing a backpack with two kilograms of cocaine inside it. They also found another kilogram of cocaine and two more handguns inside a black backpack. Three other children were present — ages 8, 10, and 15.

The cocaine and handguns were accessible to the minor children at the time, according to authorities. No other adults were at the home.

“It is absurd how reckless this situation was,” said Mobile County Sheriff Paul Burch in a statement. “There was a total disregard for the law and the children’s well-being.”
