A rural county in west Alabama will have only one ambulance starting Friday.
The single ambulance will have to serve all of Pickens County, which is home to nearly 20,000 people and covers about 890 square miles, officials said.
The Aliceville Fire Department said in a post that “the county commission as well as some of the cities don’t have the funds to support the second 16 hours day truck for the time being.”
