BALTIMORE – The Baltimore City Board of School Commissioners (The Board) will transition to a hybrid format for public meetings beginning Wednesday, November 9, 2022. This approach will allow board members and a limited number of the public to participate in person, while still allowing the remaining public to attend meetings virtually.

Additional notes regarding public Board meetings include:

Virtual option still available: City Schools will continue to provide links via Microsoft Teams for members of the community to attend virtually.

Public comment sign-up: Members of the community will now have the option to give in-person testimony by attending meetings at the North Avenue headquarters. In addition to in-person testimony, the current submission options will also remain in place: submitting an e-mail that will be read aloud by the Board Executive, submitting a three-minute video that will be broadcasted during the meeting, and giving a virtual testimony during the live meeting.

There will be 10 slots available for public comments. Members of the public interested in submitting comments can e-mail Leatrice Jones at LLJones02@bcps.k12.md.us between 4:15 – 5:15 p.m. indicating which option you will use to relay comments.

Seating: The public gallery will have 20 seats total, with 15 seats reserved for recognized groups and public comment in-person sign-ups. The remaining 5 seats will be reserved for the media. Any seats not used by in-person speakers or the media will be available to all on a first-come, first-served basis.
