(Los Angeles) The wonderful team at White Hall Arts Academy, under the leadership of Tanisha Hall, hosted the inaugural “Rock The Block,” a daylong event filled with music, thought provoking conversations, community, and a ton of fun! The occasion in celebration of their 10th Anniversary! Rock The Block was held on 54th Street, between 7th and 4th Avenues, Sunday, July 31, 2022.
Programming featured on the Main Stage, in front of the White Hall Arts Academy, a kid’s zone, activations, from community partners along with vendors focused on education, wellness and family services and mouthwatering offerings from food vendors: Happy Ice, Trap Kitchen, Fraiche Signature, Donut Grow Up, D Los Kitchen, Chef E Double, and Vurger Guyz.
The community were thoroughly engaged with dynamic programming for the whole family. The activities consisted of Boom Squad kids zone hosted by Boomer and Disney + Star Sanai Victoria, featuring music performances, clown squads, LA Double Dutch Club, gaming truck, face painting, balloon twisting, arts and crafts and more.
Parents were able to get answers and to acquire resources, tools and guidance during a panel by Rowland Acting Studios entitled “So you Think Your Kid’s a Star.”
Chase powered the panel “Incorporating Your Hustle,” hosted by KBLA’s Don Amiche featuring Angelica Awandu, Founder of The Shade Room, Lia Dias, Founder of Hype Hair Magazine and Girl Cave LA, Alrick Augustine, Founder of Keep it Run Hundred and Tanisha Hall, Founder, White Hall Arts Academy.
“The Art of Video Games” panel powered by TEC Leimert featuring Dream Haven artists were another engaging and interesting panel.

If that wasn’t enough, Backpack giveaway powered by DJ Ra Ra Foundation and a parent educational, informative, advocacy panel powered by NAAAPY, National Association of African American Parents & Youth. The organization empowers African American & Black Families and Guardians to become educated, trained advocates for their children and students. The Main Stage featured a variety of heavyweight DJ’S throwing down the beats on the ones and twos. DJ Qwesscoast, DJ Bad, DJ R-Tistic to name a few.
Live entertainment featured the vocal styling of Muse’, Gourdan Banks and BOFiya (Band on Fire), thrilling performances on the Main Stage with a set of feel-good music consisting of cover and original tunes, during their respective time in the spotlight.
Additional performers on the Main Stage were Darryl Band with Praise Singers, WHAA H.O.P.E Choir, Navarasa Dance Theater, and Chanee’
The White Hall Arts Academy is a gem in the community. It is a one-stop shop performance training center where you can discover the true performer in you, whether you are a beginner or a seasoned artist. Located in Central Los Angeles, the studio was founded in 2011 by music industry veteran and meritorious vocal and piano instructor Tanesha Hall. The Academy offers conservatory-level curriculum focusing on the fundamental skills and technique, composition, artistry, and performance in music, dance, and drama.
