Mobile Mayor Sandy Stimpson blasted Alabama’s distribution model for Internet sales taxes on Thursday, calling it “the worst thing” the city faces economically and reignited a long-time dispute over whether the tax is disbursed equitably.

“The long-term impact to that is probably the worst thing (that could occur) to the City of Mobile,” Stimpson said during the 27th annual State of the City/County Address hosted by the Mobile Chamber on Thursday.
