Baltimore City Recreation & Parks (BCRP) invites you to cozy up inside or brave the winter temperatures this December with its indoor and outdoor recreation opportunities and holiday-themed events. Each event is part of the agency’s commitment to offering each and every Baltimore City resident a wide range of programs and experiences that improve the quality of life all year round.
Holiday Poinsettia Display
Howard P. Rawlings Conservatory, 3100 Swann Dr., 21217
Wednesdays- Sundays, December 4- January 2, 10 AM – 4 PM, free, $5 donation suggested
The eye-catching holiday poinsettias are back! The Poinsettia Show returns to the H.P. Rawlings Conservatory and this years’ theme is ‘Back on Track’. Come see a model train garden done by the Baltimore Society of Model Engineers with all of the plants grown by BCRP’s Horticulture staff. Throughout the duration of the show, many beautiful poinsettias are available for sale. Visit early and often for the best selection. The Poinsettia Display is closed on December 24 and 25.
$5 5K Reindeer Run
Baltimore Inner Harbor, West Shore Park
Saturday, December 4, 8 AM, $5
Our popular $5 5K is back for the holidays! Families, friends, park enthusiasts, runners and walkers alike get to enjoy the fresh air, camaraderie, and reindeer fun. A virtual 5K option is available for those unavailable or not yet comfortable to join in person. In partnership with Charm City Run, all proceeds from the $5 5K series benefit park programming. Registration is required.
NEW! Cookies & Cabooses

Cookies & Cabooses is a new, family-friendly holiday event and the first holiday event to take place at the recently opened Cahill Fitness and Wellness Center. Get a chance to meet Santa, make seasonal crafts, and enjoy a showing of the Polar Express in our very own theatre! We’ve got parents covered too with lawn games, ax-throwing, warm beverages and onsite food trucks. This event is FREE (with on-site items for purchase) and all are welcome. RSVP today!
Seniors Pre New Year’s Eve Gala

Baltimore’s seniors are living their best lives! What better way to showcase this and kiss 2021 goodbye than at BCRP’s Annual Pre-New Year’s Gala. The party goes on and on with food, drinks, dancing, and much more. Come celebrate with us and wear your holiday attire to bring in the New Year.
Looking for some non-holiday fun? Join us this winter for a few of our other signature events like the BCRP Park Tailgates and Drive-in Movie Series.
