Glendale, AZ.
The countdown to the general election has begun and the candidates are making
their pitch to voters as to why they are best suited to lead the country. Being once again a
“battleground state”, Arizona is hot property on the election trail. Judging by the crowd size (who says size does not matter?), it was a tremendous success. Over 15,000 people filed into Desert Diamond Arena to hear from the Democratic party’s nominees for the top of the ticket last week.
All of the top democrats were on hand for the rally. Including Senator Mark Kelly, Congressman
Greg Stanton, and Congressman Ruben Gallego. Several elected state and municipal officials were on hand as well. They included Senator Catherine Miranda, Representative Quanta Crews,
Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego, Tempe Mayor Corey Woods, Mesa Mayor John Giles, Chandler
Vice Mayor OD Harris, Phoenix City Councilwoman Keisha Hodges-Washington, and Tempe
City Councilwoman Berdetta Hodge.
The message from the Vice president was clear, international relations are a top priority, along
with immigration, the economy, and abortion rights. The energy in the arena was high even
before Harris and Waltz took the stage. Once in front, both candidates did an extremely good
job interacting with the crowd. This was a high-energy event that the Democrats hope to ride into November. There is no doubt that they will return to the valley.
