A line of cashews sold by Trader Joe’s is being recalled over potential salmonella contamination.
Wenders LLC, a distributor of Trader Joe’s products, is specifically recalling Trader Joe’s 50% Less Sodium Roasted & Salted Whole Cashews.
According to a March 18 announcement on the FDA Website, the products were sold in 16 Trader Joe’s locations around the country, including Alabama, Oregon, and Texas. The products have the SKU number 37884.
The issue was identified through routine testing by FDA during import, which indicated that at least one of the recalled lots tested positive for the presence of Salmonella. The following lot numbers were affected:
- T12139 (best before Feb. 21, 2025)
- T12140 (best before March 1, 2025)
- T12141 (best before March 8, 2025)
- T12142 (best before March 10, 2025)
No illnesses have been reported to date, according to the FDA. Consumers who purchased the affected products are urged to return them to any Trader Joe’s store for a full refund.
