The National Black Caucus of State Legislators, founded in 1977, will host its 2024 Annual Legislative Conference Dec. 2-7 at the Capital Hilton in Washington, D.C. This year’s theme is “Rebuilding the American Dream.”
Sessions during this conference will include leveraging artificial intelligence to achieve the “American Dream” and using public policy to advance opportunities for economic prosperity.
Over 500 Black policymakers and community leaders such as D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser (D) and Maryland Gov. Wes Moore (D) are set to be in attendance. Attendees will discuss pressing matters facing Black communities concerning health, social justice and more.
The conference will also include a Youth Congress Day, which is expected to draw in over 100 persons who will take part in mock legislative sessions.
The AFRO will be in attendance, reporting throughout the conference. Check back for more coverage as the conference gets underway.
