A suspect has been charged in the weekend shooting death of a 49-year-old man in Bessemer.
Michael J. Larkin, 34, is charged with capital murder in the slaying of Andre Taylor.
Officers were dispatched at 5:35 a.m. Saturday to a report of a shooting at 18th Street and 18th Way in Bessemer, said Det. Justin Burmeister.
They arrived to find Taylor unresponsive inside a vehicle. He was pronounced dead on the scene at 5:47 a.m.

Larkin was quickly taken into custody. After formal warrants were obtained, he was booked into the Jefferson County Jail at 10:03 a.m. Sunday.
He is being held without bond.
Burmeister said the two were acquaintances, but a motive has not yet been determined. The charge is capital because Taylor was in a vehicle when he was fatally shot.
