Second Chance Deliverance and Restoration Ministries, Inc. celebrated another milestone with their Second Annual “Love of Music” Gala on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at the Ernest L. Knight Reception Center on the campus of Alabama A&M University. Founded by Leo and Donna Robinson in 2005, the ministry focuses on providing mentorship, spiritual guidance, and support services to individuals combating substance abuse and other life challenges in Huntsville, Alabama.

The ‘Love of Music’ Gala, a pivotal fundraising event for the ministry, showcased a lineup of distinguished guests and performances with the aim of raising funds for charitable causes. This year’s proceeds will be directed towards First Stop, Inc., a local organization dedicated to helping people experiencing homelessness, and providing scholarships for academically talented yet disadvantaged students pursuing higher education.

Among the highlights of the evening were performances by Dr. Walter Bragg, Minister of Music at Lakeside United Methodist Church, and a trumpet fanfare by Mr. Jonathan Hullett from Alabama A&M University’s Marching Maroon and White Band. Reverend Doctor Terrance Vickerstaff, Supervisory Procurement Analyst at the United States Army Contracting Command, served as the Master of Ceremonies, guiding attendees through an evening of celebration and philanthropy.

The event also honored the community’s notable individuals for their music and philanthropy contributions. Honorees included Jenise Showers Bradshaw, Vanessa Downing Henderson, Rev. Dr. Janette Chandler Kotey, Alexander “A.L.” Lewis Jr., Charlie F. Lockhart IV, Tommie L. Lockhart, Courtney Moore, Gregory Vajda, and Shelly Williams. Additionally, scholarships were awarded to Tatiana Cherry and Kyler Rose in recognition of their commitment to musical excellence and academic achievement.

Mrs. Donna Robinson, Secretary/Treasurer of Second Chance Deliverance and Restoration Ministries, expressed gratitude to sponsors and attendees, emphasizing the impact of their contributions in supporting the ministry’s mission.
