Donald Trump is an American politician, media personality, and businessman who served as the 45th president of the United States from 2017 to 2021.

This is an opinion column.

Racist Republicans who are trying to save “the spy who was in the people’s house” are using the same tactics used against Robert Mueller when he was investigating Russian interference in the 2016 election. These are all deflections/smoke screens. ’What about Joe Biden? What about Hillary Clinton? What about Pence? What about Bush? What about Obama?

Former Madison County Commissioner and now U.S. Congressman Dale Strong was born in Monrovia, Alabama only a few miles from Redstone Arsenal, Alabama and is, or should be aware of, how important protecting classified information is, yet he goes on the record saying… “The DOJ is applying a double standard when it comes to the indictment of President Donald Trump. Hillary Clinton was exonerated after mishandling classified information, and it is unlikely we see an indictment of our current President Joe Biden for the same thing…”  In Strong’s “whataboutism”, he chose not to mention that Trump was no longer President as of November 3, 2020. What else would you expect from Strong, he ran his campaign for Congress on the big lie that the election as stolen when he knew that was not the truth.

Congressman Tommy Tuberville…”The same DOJ that labeled parents questioning school boards as “domestic terrorists” are now doing the everything to stop @DonaldTrump from retaking the White House.   The Biden Administration is the most corrupt in American history.”

Tuberville was referring to a Republican talking point that has been labeled a false claim by Factcheck.org.  I see why he was a losing football coach. “Stupid is as Stupid Does.” Notice in their comments both Strong and Tuberville blamed someone else for the wrong doings of a Mad Man who is responsible for his own actions. Remember it’s not what they say, it’s what they don’t say.

If there is a double standard for Trump, refer to Former National Security Advisor Sandy Berger, Former CIA Director David Petraeus, US Navy Reservist Bryan Nishimura, Former National Security Agency Contractor Harold Martin, Former Defense Contractor Weldon Marshall, and last but not least, twenty-one-year-old Air National Guardsman Jack Teixeira who is facing charges under the Espionage Act. All these people mishandled classified information and paid or will pay the price for doing so. Trump should suffer the same consequences.

It’s true that Trump and Clinton mishandled classified material and misled the public about their actions. The major difference with Clinton is that Trump mishandled more classified documents, and obstructed the investigation with criminal intent. He played hide and seek with the nation’s security.

The acts of this Mad Man are inexcusable but you have elected official who are saying they are just fine with his actions.
