BROOKLANDVILLE, MD — HopeWell Cancer Support, in partnership with Morgan CARES, is proud to announce the launch of its Family Circle Program in East Baltimore in September 2024. This initiative marks the beginning of a two-year collaboration with Morgan CARES (Community-Aligned REsearch Solutions), a program affiliated with Morgan State University. Morgan CARES serves as a bridge between community and academic leaders, cultivating relationships that promote health equity and address disparities in Baltimore communities.
Through this new collaboration, HopeWell Cancer Support aims to extend its comprehensive cancer support services to East Baltimore, reaching families who may have been unaware of HopeWell’s offerings or unable to access them. The partnership will introduce a variety of free creative programs and services, including support groups, mind-body activities, and workshops, designed to assist adults diagnosed with cancer, their caregivers, and youth.
To celebrate the launch of the Family Circle Program, HopeWell will host a Family Art Night on Thursday, November 7, from 6-7:30 p.m. at Morgan CARES, 2101 E Biddle Street, Stone Building, Suite 1204, Baltimore, MD 21213. This free creative program is specifically designed for children and teens (ages 5-17) and their families who have an adult loved one affected by cancer. Dinner will be provided from 5:30-6 p.m.
The Family Circle Program recognizes the unique impact that cancer has on every member of a family. It offers a safe and supportive space for discussion, creative exploration, and the development of coping tools. With the support of community leaders and local organizations, HopeWell’s Family Circle Program will provide a valuable resource to families across East Baltimore.
