Vice President Kamala Harris was sworn in on two Bibles, one belonging to Thurgood Marshall, the first Black Supreme Court Justice, and the other belonging to Regina Shelton, a mentor and second mother to Harris and her sister Maya, who taught them to bond with other Black girls and women and to embrace the law as a means to advancing equality and justice.
