DeMylah Delyric Nixon-Johnson was shot and killed July 24 in Sheffield, Ala.

Sheffield police are looking for a man they believe was responsible for shooting and killing a 16-year-old girl last month.

Police Chief Ricky Terry said an arrest warrant has been issued for Larmarion Nizer Bethany, also known as Ghost, for the murder of DeMylah Delyric Nixon-Johnson.

Terry said Bethany should be considered armed and dangerous, and should not be approached.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Sheffield police or local law enforcement.

Nixon-Johnson was shot and killed July 24 at about 1 a.m. at 1006 S. Nashville Ave. Investigators believe the girl was not the intended target of the shooter.

Police said officers arrived at the scene to find the victim lying in the grass, shot in the back between the shoulder blades.

She had apparently been shot once.

Her aunt, Annie Johnson, has created a GoFundMe page to raise money for her funeral expenses.
