A Section man is being held on several charges after authorities say he used a hammer to assault people in two homes Wednesday.
The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office said Ralph Lee Billy Wayne Steed, 34, of Section, is being held without bond in the Jackson County Jail.

According to the sheriff’s office, deputies and Section police officers responded after reports that a man with a hammer had entered residences on Tammy Little Drive in Section.
According to witnesses, the man forced entry into two residences and assaulted two individuals and a dog, using the hammer.
Section police arrived at the scene and confronted the man, identified as Steed, inside the residence, still armed with the hammer.
Steed was Tazed by a Section Police Officer and taken into custody with the assistance of a deputy.
The two assault victims were transported to Highlands Hospital by ambulance for treatment.
Steed is charged with two counts of attempted murder, two counts of first degree burglary, second degree attempted assault, resisting arrest and cruelty to animals.
