The Mount Calvary Seventh Day Adventist Church, located at 1201 Meadow Drive in Huntsville, Alabama, celebrated their 40th church anniversary on Saturday, December 17, 2022, at the 11:00 a.m. worship service. The theme for the anniversary was “Mt. Calvary families reflecting, respecting and projecting our legacy”.  Services were held on Saturdays, December 3, 10, and 17 in celebration of the anniversary. The former Pastors of the Mt. Calvary Church were the speakers for the three Saturday services. The speaker for the culmination of the three worship services on December 17 was Pastor Rupert Bushner, Mt. Calvary Pastor from 2013 to 2018. His sermon title was “He Will Do It Again”, scripture reference 1 Samuel 7:1-13. Music for the service was provided by the 40th Anniversary Reunion Choir. Greetings and a resolution from Huntsville District One Councilman Devyn Keith were made. Special Presentations were given to Alberts Flower and Morris Greenhouse and Royal Funeral Home for their support of the Mt. Calvary SDA Church. Mrs. Karen Jones Smith, co-owner of Royal Funeral Home was present to accept the presentation for Royal Funeral Home. The funeral home allowed Mt. Calvary to worship at their facility while the church was acquiring land and building their house of worship. The 40th Anniversary concluded with a Gala on Saturday, December 17 at 6:00 p.m. The event was held in the E. C. Ward Fellowship Hall on the Mt. Calvary Church campus. Pastor Willie L. Taylor is the Senior Pastor and Pastor Khaleel Clarke serves as Assistant Pastor.
