The 2025 MBE Night in Annapolis, the largest conference for minority business enterprises (MBEs) in Maryland, will be held at The Westin Annapolis from 5-9 p.m. on Feb. 20. The annual gathering, established by former Del. Herman Taylor of Maryland’s 14th District, connects minority business owners with industry experts, business leaders and government officials to gain insight into the state’s procurement opportunities.

This year’s MBE Night speakers include Comptroller Brooke Lierman, Treasurer Dereck Davis, Legislative Black Caucus Chair Jheanelle Wilkins, Chief Procurement Officer Wallace Sermons II and Gov. Wes Moore. The event will also feature two panel discussions. During one, attendees will hear from leading Black CEOs about their journey of growing and scaling their enterprises. In the second, presidents of Maryland’s historically Black colleges and universities will speak on the state of Black economic mobility.
MBE Night in Annapolis becomes even more important in 2025, as the new U.S. president has already banned federal diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) initiatives.
