The redesigns for and the NNPA New Wire feature vastly improved user experiences for both platforms prior to October 2015. There are really too many features and tools to name in one brief statement, but it is important to note the direction and format that original content will take on in coming months.

In coming weeks, Lauren Burke, a veteran political reporter (follow Lauren on Twitter @lvburke) will join the news wire to augment coverage of Capitol Hill and the White House. Lauren has worked for USA, The Washington Post, The Hill, and the Associated Press.

In coming months, the NNPA New Wire will also produce features on every single member of the Congressional Black Caucus and U.S. Representatives who serve in districts where member publications are located. “It is time that we started using our proximity to the halls of power and our voice to spark a much-needed dialogue between elected officials and their constituents in the Black community,” Allen said.
