One of downtown Huntsville’s hotels is sporting a new look.

Embassy Suites by Hilton Huntsville completed a two-phased multimillion-dollar renovation.

The hotel near the Von Braun Civic Center unveiled the renovations to the public last week.

The 295-room hotel is connected by a sky bridge to the VBCand and is adjacent to Big Spring International Park.

“For 18 years, the Embassy Suites by Hilton Huntsville has served as an award-winning hospitality provider in Huntsville, positively impacting the city’s economy,” said Larry Cooper, vice President, operational Strategies — Eastern Region, Atrium Hospitality. “Our beautifully renovated hotel has the highest room count in Huntsville, can accommodate attendees of large groups and conferences at the Von Braun Center, as well as host business and transient travelers wanting an excellent place to stay.”

The renovation spanned:

— All 295 two-room guest suites.

— First-floor open-air atrium.

— New farm-to-table restaurant concept, with indoor and outdoor seating, called CO/OP Community Table + Bar.

— Flexible event space (11,500 square feet), including new Saturn V meeting room (nearly 700 square feet).

— Indoor saltwater pool.

— Public restrooms.

— New sundry/gift shop, including items sourced through employment social enterprises to empower people through dignity of work.

— Bottled water filling stations throughout the hotel to reduce plastic and pollution.

— Occupancy sensors in guest rooms and 100% LED conversion to save energy.

The redesign of the hotel reflects the city’s location and history in innovation and technology, including:

— Angular and geometric graphics inspired by rocket ship designs, recognizing Huntsville’s heritage as “Rocket City.”

— Fabric and carpet patterns influenced by rhythm and repetition of the railroad, underscoring Alabama’s longest-standing railroad terminal in Huntsville.

— Organic selection of art, accentuating Huntsville’s riverside location.

All of the hotel’s 295 two-room suites have been refreshed from top to bottom and feature new 55″ televisions, luxurious bedding, a mini-refrigerator, a microwave, a large desk, Wi-Fi, and a full-size sofa bed in a separate living area. In addition, more guest suites have a walk-in shower with a glass door, according to the hotel.

The Embassy Suites Huntsville is operated by Atrium Hospitality, one of the nation’s largest hotel operators. Alpharetta, Georgia-based Atrium Hospitality manages a portfolio of 80 hotels in 28 states and approximately three million square feet of event space.
