A Huntsville teen killed in a car accident is being remembered by her college for possessing “genuine kindness” and an “endearing personality.”
Emma Howard died Sunday after a two-vehicle collision with a tractor trailer in Russell County, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
Howard was 19 years old at the time of her death and a freshman seeking a Business Administration major at Huntingdon College.
On Monday, the college made a post on Facebook in remembrance of Howard’s life saying she, ”carried a big smile with her across the campus.”
“Her vibrant attitude, genuine kindness, and endearing personality will be missed not only by those within the Huntingdon community, but by all of those who were blessed by Emma’s presence,” the post read.
According to the college, Howard recently joined the women’s lacrosse team and making a positive impact.
Howard’s accolades at Grissom High School were also mentioned as she was an active sister of the Alpha Omicron Pi fraternity, a member of the girl’s soccer team and on the Dean’s List of High Honors.
Alpha Omicron Pi also posted on Facebook mourning Howard’s death and extending their condolences to her family.
“Emma was a freshman majoring in business administration at Huntingdon College and a member of the women’s soccer team,” the fraternity said.
“According to her AOll sisters, she was a constant source of kindness, laughter and love, and she was a light in each of their lives.
We extend our deepest condolences to Emma’s family and to the sisters of the Sigma Delta Chapter.”
