A man shot to death at a Jefferson County Waffle House early Sunday was 26 years old and lived in Huntsville.

The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office on Monday identified the slain man as Cristall Terrell Hereford.

Jefferson County sheriff’s Lt. Joni Money said deputies were dispatched at 1:30 a.m. to the restaurant in the 2200 block of Center Point Parkway. The report was that a person was threatening to shoot patrons.

Before deputies got on the scene, Money said, Hereford got into an altercation with another patron. The patron then shot Hereford left the location.

Hereford was pronounced dead on the scene at 1:48 a.m.

The alleged shooter remains at large.
