As temperatures on the Gulf Coast skyrocket, so do your water and power bills. Local power companies, however, say it doesn’t have to be so bad.

In 2023, Alabama placed third behind Louisiana and Mississippi in terms of energy consumption, and just ahead of Arkansas and Tennessee, according to a WalletHub study. The scorching summers aren’t doing energy customers any favors.
