Miles College continues to play at a high level moving the football up and down the field.

The Golden Bears (2-0 league, 3-1 overall) will go on the road to play Central State (0-2 league, 1-3 overall) on Saturday, Sept. 30 with an offense capable of lighting up the scoreboard. The kickoff is set for 12 p.m.

Offensively, the Golden Bears are led by quarterback Edwin Kleinpeter who played extremely well in the team’s 55-14 win over Clark Atlanta last week. Kleinpeter completed 15-of-20 passes for 260 yards and four touchdowns and had five carries for 30 yards and one rushing TD.

Kleinpeter has two brilliant wide receivers with Jaih Andrews and Geordon Pollard who can get open and make some big receptions in the passing game with running back Brandon Hicks providing Miles with a solid ground attack which should help them in this Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) matchup against Central State.

In other SIAC action, Tuskegee University (3-0 league, 4-0 overall) will step out of conference and visit Alabama A&M (1-1 league, 2-2 overall) from the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) on Saturday, Sept. 30. The kickoff will be at 2 p.m.

The Golden Tigers are on a terrific roll with some big plays during this winning streak.

On offense, the Golden Tigers have a strong rushing game with running backs Zina Mulbah and Johnny Morris who can move the chains and create scoring opportunities with their running skills.

Defensively, linebackers Malik Moore and Vincent Hill have been Tuskegee University’s top players. Moore and Hill are the team’s leading tacklers with 38 and 25 tackles respectively.

The Golden Tigers’ defense will be tested with the Bulldogs outstanding running backs with Ryan Morrow and Donovan Eaglin.

Elsewhere in the SWAC, Alabama State (0-1 league, 1-2 overall) will host Alcorn State (0-1 league, 1-3 overall) on Saturday, Sept. 30. The kickoff will take place at 5 p.m.

The Hornets’ wide receiver Kisean Johnson has been one of the team’s best offensive players. Johnson has 24 catches for 322 yards and three TDs.
