Former President George W. Bush is headed to Huntsville next month as the guest speaker of healthcare and HIV/AIDS prevention nonprofit Thrive Alabama, the organization announced Wednesday.
As part of “An Exclusive Conversation with George W. Bush,” the former president “will provide insights into the challenges and triumphs faced during their tenure in office, as well as reflections on the current state of our nation,” said Thrive Alabama.
Bush will speak at the Von Braun Center South Hall 2 on Feb. 11.
Doors open at 5:15 p.m. and close at 6:30 p.m.
Thrive Alabama operates healthcare clinics and works to stop the spread of HIV and AIDS in 12 north Alabama counties.
Bush was invited to speak due to creating the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief, or PEPFAR, in 2003. PEPFAR created global funding to combat HIV and AIDS among the world’s nations.
