Last year, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts told Essence magazine: “I’m not married or anything like that. But I am spoken for.”
That “not married” part is about to change for the Pro Bowler.
Hurts and Byronna Rivera Burrows met while attending the University of Alabama, and now they are engaged.
While Hurts left the Crimson Tide after three years to play his senior season for Oklahoma, Burrows holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Alabama.
Hurts also holds a bachelor’s degree in communication and information sciences from Alabama and a master’s degree from Oklahoma in human relations.
Burrows accompanied Hurts and the Eagles when they traveled to Sao Paulo, Brazil, for their season-opening game against the Green Bay Packers last week.
Philadelphia defeated the Packers 34-29.
The Eagles play the Atlanta Falcons at 7:15 p.m. CDT Monday at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia. ESPN will televise the game.
