The election year campaigning has started in the State of Alabama with a bang! Once again, Republicans are showing how good they are at not letting people know what they are really up to. Or so they think. There are currently three campaign ads being shown locally. Let’s translate what they are saying.
(1). Republican Congressman Robert Aderholt’s ad says that “the Biden administration is shipping immigrants in buses to small towns all over the country without notice, and it never happened when Trump was President, and this has to stop… he supports President Trump and President Trump supports him…”
TRANSLATION: The Governor of Texas, Greg Abbott, and his administration commit these atrocities. Citizen Trump is not President. One liar supports another liar.
(2) Medical Dr. Alan Long is running for the State School Board. In his ad, he says that “he’s going to stop the woke leftist agenda from taking over our schools…” He has a “shaded” person stating that her daughter was assigned a Black Lives Matter Book. I wouldn’t show my face either, knowing that in the State of Alabama, they would have been fired if a teacher had done that.
TRANSLATION: You are going to read what I tell you to read. If it’s not about the white race, like the ones that my great-great-great parents read, you won’t find it.
(3). Sarah Stewart, currently an Associate Justice on the Alabama Supreme Court, is running for Chief Justice. She also says that “she will protect the constitution from woke liberals. Then, she shows a video from another country of rioters burning the American Flag.
TRANSLATION: You will believe anything I tell you because I’m white.
When candidates use the word “woke,” it is the code for people of color and anyone who supports change. Trump categorized it as racist to protest the murder of George Floyd. The campaign commercials have just begun. Watch and listen to them carefully.
Republicans have perfected the art of “Smoke and Mirrors,” meaning they are good at deception. They want America to concentrate on President Biden’s age in this election year. No Republican has mentioned Mitch McConnell, who is the same age as Biden, because they need him to stay in Congress.
