HUNTSVILLE, Ala. | Alabama A&M University running back Donovan Eaglin earned multiple player of the week accolades on Monday.

The redshirt senior from Houston, Texas was selected the HBCU+ FCS National Player of the Week, BOXTOROW Co-Offensive Player of the Week and Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Offensive Player of the Week honors.

Eaglin became the second FCS player to score five touchdowns in a game this season, fueling Alabama A&M’s 52-24, SWAC triumph at Arkansas-Pine Bluff. Across three quarters of action, he carried the ball 26 times for 148 yards, first scoring from 17 yards out early in the second quarter before later rushing for four consecutive TDs (18, 2, 3 and 3 yards). In addition, Eaglin, who gained nine first downs at UAPB, averaged 5.7 yards per carry as Alabama A&M snapped a three-game road losing streak.

Grambling State’s Andrew Jones was named the SWAC’s Defensive Player of the Week, while Jackson State had a pair of honors – Gerardo Baeza and Travis Terrell Jr., received specialist and newcomer of the week, respectively.

Alabama A&M closes out its home campaign under the lights on Thursday as Grambling State visits Louis Crews Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. and televised on ESPNU.
