Huntsville, Ala. – Drake State Community and Technical College’s Health Sciences Division will host its second Healthcare Heroes Week from April 15- 18. This event celebrates the dedication and contributions of healthcare professionals while inspiring the next generation of healthcare heroes.

The week will feature various activities to promote health awareness and career exploration, culminating with Who Wants to be a Healthcare Hero? Day on Thursday, April 18. During the event,

Drake State will host fifth-grade students from MartinLuther King, Jr. Elementary School to participate in interactive activities focused on health and safety, fire safety, diabetes awareness, and nutrition education. Each participant will receive a super-hero cape and mask to commemorate their experience.

Other events include a blood drive with the American Red Cross on Tuesday, April 16, and Healthcare.

Heroes Selfie Day on Monday, April 15.

“We are delighted to host Healthcare Heroes Week at Drake State Community and Technical College for a second year,” said Drake State Health Sciences Division Chair Doctor Alice Raymond.

“This event honors the hard work of health- care professionals and inspires young minds to consider careers in the health sciences. We look forward to welcoming students, faculty, and community members to join us in celebrating our healthcare heroes.”
