Coppin State University will host a Women’s History Month event on Friday, March 28, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Talon Center, 2nd Floor Atrium, celebrating the achievements and contributions of women throughout history. The forum will feature keynote addresses, panel discussions and interactive workshops led by women leaders from various industries.
“The importance of this event is very significant because it helps empower our students and community, giving them the confidence to go forth in the workplace and in life, knowing they are supported,” said Rishama Burrowes, a pre-nursing major with a psychology minor at Coppin University.
Baltimore City Councilwoman Phylicia Porter and Secretary Tisha Edwards will deliver keynote speeches. Additional discussions will cover topics such as women’s health, professional development, and overcoming imposter syndrome.
“Our goal is for people to leave the forum feeling educated, empowered and confident in themselves—to show up in the workforce how they want to be perceived,” said Burrowes.
In addition to discussions, the forum will provide networking opportunities, allowing attendees to connect with peers and industry professionals. Coppin State University continues its commitment to fostering a supportive environment where women can thrive, emphasizing the importance of education and mentorship in shaping future generations.
