GoFundMe was created Thursday to help with medical expenses for a child critically injured during a bonfire shooting in south Alabama two weeks ago.

On Dec. 6 a mass shooting occurred at a bonfire in Theodore that killed Donte Desantis, 31, and injured several juveniles, including Barrett Bullock.

It was not clear how old Barrett is, but authorities have said the youngest of the six injured juveniles was 13. No arrests have been announced.

Crystal Lavelle started a GoFundMe on behalf of Barrett and his family to assist in covering the financial costs of his recovery. Barrett was shot in the head and has endured several medical interventions already according to the fundraiser’s description.

Crystal Lavelle started a GoFundMe on behalf of Barrett and his family to assist in covering the financial costs of his recovery. Barrett was shot in the head and has endured several medical interventions already according to the fundraiser’s description.

“This devastating incident has led to a series of medical interventions, including a craniectomy, and extended hospital stay in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and now, a long road of recovery and treatment for Barrett,” Lavelle said.

“The journey toward his recovery has just begun, and it is a path that will require immense courage, resilience, and support, both financially and emotionally.”

Barrett is the youngest son of Beth and Bobby Bullock.

“He is a beacon of light in the lives of those who know and love him. Often described as kind, smart, sweet, and witty, Barrett embodies the qualities we can both admire and cherish in others. For those fortunate enough to know him, his spirit touches everyone he comes into contact with, even when he is faced with a tragedy such as this.”

A $10,000 goal is set for the GoFundMe and as of this publication over $2,300 has already been raised.

“Every contribution, no matter how big or small, can and will make an impact. By working together, we can help alleviate the financial strain on Barrett’s family, allowing them to focus on what truly matters: Barrett’s recovery and well-being.”
