HUNTSVILLE, Ala. | Alabama A&M University Director of Athletics Dr. Paul A. Bryant announced on Friday that Louis Whitlow will take over as interim head baseball coach.
“I am excited to bring in a talented head coach in Louis Whitlow,” Bryant said. “He is a proud alum of this outstanding institution and I am excited for him to lead this program.”
Whitlow is no stranger to the Alabama A&M baseball program, serving as the hitting and batting coach.
“I am honored and humbled to accept the position of interim head baseball coach at Alabama A&M University,” Whitlow said. “As an alumnus, this role carries a deep significance for me, and I am committed to upholding the tradition of excellence and integrity that A&M represents.”
Whitlow, who has more than 15 years of coaching experience, has contributed to teams at Travel Showcase Baseball, Monrovia Middle School, Adult League Baseball, and Alabama A&M University Baseball. His 10-plus years in specialized team training include private coaching for hitting, pitching, fielding, and catcher training.
Whitlow, who is a 1999 graduate of Huffman High School in Birmingham, Ala., is a proud member of the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. He also graduated from Alabama A&M with a Bachelor Degree in Communications, with a minor in Marketing. He later advanced his expertise with a dual Masters Degree in Management and Human Resources from Florida Institute of Technology, along with an international certification in personality studies.
Off the field, Whitlow enjoys spending quality time with his family, including his three sons, Lamir, David, baby Ace, and his supportive wife, Tiffany. He remains an active advocate for the City of Huntsville, showing dedication to the community that he has cherished since his days at Alabama A&M University.
