The search continues for a missing 60-year-old central Alabama man who vanished more than two weeks ago after leaving a family gathering.

Michael Randall Thompson, of Tallassee, was last seen Wednesday, April 17, in Eclectic.

Thompson left the gathering about 1 p.m. and has not been heard from since then. He was last seen in a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee, which has since been found in Macon County.

Tallassee police investigators said blood was found in Thompson’s home, and his wallet was still at the residence.

Thompson’s family told WSFA the missing man has cancer and has been without his medications.Macon County Sheriff Andre Brunson said Thompson’s vehicle was found off County Road 36.
