For the last two years, the world has been battling a pandemic of the deadly ever-mutating coronavirus. Since then, vaccines and COVID tests have been distributed to citizens to help prevent the spread of the virus. During the holidays, the United States experienced a shortage of free rapid at-home Covid-tests due to travel and affordability.
Now, on Jan. 15, the Biden-Harris Administration purchased 500 million at-home rapid COVID-19 tests for U.S. citizens to use, whether they are insured or not. The tests are free and can be sent directly to your home by visiting the official Covid-test website. You do not have to be vaccinated or show symptoms of COVID-19 to take the test, however, if you are experiencing symptoms like a fever, cough, or loss of taste or smell, then you are encouraged to get tested.
