(Huntsville, AL) The race for the White House is heading into its final weeks and we encourage every voter to pack a plan for election day. Election Day, or the general election, is on Nov. 5. In the general election, voters will decide who represents federal, state, and local offices, including the U.S. president, U.S. Senate, and state Legislature.
As you plan to vote this November, here are some important dates for you to remember as you prepare to cast your vote.
October 21, 2024 – Voter registration deadline
October 29, 2024 – Last day to apply for an absentee ballot by mail.
October 31, 2024- Last day to apply for an absentee ballot in person.
November 4, 2024, Last day to hand-deliver an absentee ballot
November 5, 2024 – General Election
November 5, 2024 – Absentee ballots returned by mail must be received by noon, except for persons casting absentee ballots pursuant to the Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act (UOCAVA voters)
Unfortunately, the deadline to register to vote in Alabama was on October 21st. If you were able to get registered to vote before this date, and you are not voting absentee, please make a plan to vote on election day. It is expected that the lines and the wait to vote on November 5th may be long, so pack your patience along with your plan.
Before you go to the poll, we encourage you to double check your voter registration and make sure it is active. Also, know your voting poll location and what time you plan travel to the poll. Make sure you have the appropriate personal identification card or information. We also encourage to you know who and what is on your ballot before to go to the polls, it will save you some time. Presidential polls continue to show that this election is remarkably close between the top candidates. Every vote is critical to move the country in the right direction after November 5th. Please support a new path forward by voting for Vice President Kamala Harris and Governor Tim Walz. No matter your party affiliation, lets vote for a bright future not one that is chaotic and divisive.
