The family and friends of Violet Mae Satterfield are raising money for her medical care after the toddler was pulled from a pool Monday in Arab.
According to her family, Satterfield and her family were celebrating her second birthday when she sneaked into a swimming pool without her floatation devices.
A prayer vigil for the family was held at Liberty Church in Arab at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.
According to a social media post by the family, Satterfield is stabilized and in a hypothermic sleep.
Satterfield was flown to Children’s of Alabama, “where she is currently fighting for her life and needs all of your prayers for a miracle,” according to the GoFundMe page.
“Baby Violet does not have insurance so we would like to set up this GoFundMe to help with medical bills and anything else the family may need during this devastating time,” the page states. “We do not know how long her parents will be out of work without income and any amount will help to ensure that they are taken care of.”
