If you bought tickets for the Camellia Music & Arts Festival, look at it this way: You should have some more money soon.
The new Huntsville rap and R&B festival planned for the weekend of April 25 at Orion Amphitheater has been cancelled. Headliners were to include Big Boi, Gucci Mane, Kehlani and JID.
Concert promoter Allied Presents announced the cancelation today via social media.
The statement reads: “It’s with great disappointment that we must announce Camellia Music & Arts Festival will not take place as planned. While this is not the outcome we had hoped for, we are deeply grateful for the enthusiasm and support from this community.”
Fans who purchased tickets through the festival’s official ticket provider AXS will automatically receive refunds within 30 business days, according to the statement. Those who purchased tickets elsewhere are instructed to seek a refund from that point of purchase. Tickets were priced at $55 – $155 per day.
Last year, the launch of another Huntsville multi-day music festival with national headliners also faced challenges. South Star Music Festival’s debut boasted memorable sets by ‘90s acts like Gwen Stefani, TLC and Rage Against The Machine’s Tom Morello. But muddy conditions at the John Hunt Park site led to the cancelation of South Star’s entire second day.
