HUNTSVILLE, Ala. | Alabama A&M University sophomore right-handed pitcher Anthony Mateo has been selected to compete in the 2024 Minority Baseball Prospects (MBP) HBCU All-Star game on Saturday, June 1 at the University of Houston.
 
Mateo has appeared in and started in 11 games this season for the Bulldogs. The Lynn, Mass. native has worked in 58.1 innings, with 26 strikeouts, including a season-high four against Arkansas-Pine Bluff and Jackson State.
 
Minority Baseball Prospects’ mission is to promote the game of baseball worldwide by providing unique developmental event platforms. MBP offers impactful opportunities generating key information to all minority prospects, families, Major League Baseball organizations, college coaches, and fans.
 
The MBP HBCU All-Star Game is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. CST.
