The first North Alabama Ag Expo took place on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at Alabama A&M University’s Agribition Center. Drawing an audience of approximately 800 people, the event was made possible through support from statewide partners and sponsors, including the Alabama Farmers Federation and Alabama Agriculture & Industries. The expo provided a platform for educational institutions, commodity and community organizations, and businesses to showcase their products and services while fostering new collaborations.

Dr. Majed El-Dweik, vice president of research and development and interim 1890 Extension administrator, expressed his satisfaction with the outcome, stating, “Alabama A&M University leadership is extremely pleased with the results of the North Alabama Ag Expo. We are already making plans to build upon what we accomplished this year in showcasing the best that North Alabama has to offer in agriculture.”

Ag Expo Chair Donna Gilbert echoed this enthusiasm, saying, “The inaugural Ag Expo was a remarkable success, filled with discovery, fun, and a sense of community. We celebrated agriculture, fostered industry partnerships, and engaged with over 800 attendees from across the state. Next year we want to raise the bar and invite more exceptional partners to join us in highlighting agriculture in this region.”

The North Alabama Ag Expo is set to return on Saturday, November 1, 2025, showcasing urban and traditional agriculture across 13 counties in North Alabama. Sponsors, vendors, and exhibitors can begin submitting applications for participation starting in December 2024.
