Annual United Way Campaign Underway

Alabama A&M University’s Annual United Way Campaign began on Monday, November 27 and will run through Monday, December 11. Organizers hope to build on the more than $195,000 AAMU has raised through the campaign over the past few years.

“Our University is committed to our community,” says United Way Steering Committee member Tarsha Lockhart. “United Way strategically focuses on three areas: education, financial stability and health, with every dollar invested in 27 agencies spanning across 35 programs. This campaign supports that work.”

For 80 years, United Way of Madison County has lifted spirits and raised the standard of living in our community. United Way helps developing children and youth, strengthens families and neighborhoods, helps seniors stay independent and supports people rebuilding their lives.

“This year we have a secure digital pledge form which can be used to make your contribution. We will accept any amount you wish to donate, because every little bit helps,” says Lockhart.

You can also give to a specific agency or give in general and allow the United Way to distribute your funds across the board. Checks should be made to: United Way of Madison County.

“I would also like to emphasize the Dolly Parton Imagination Library which allows children in Madison County up to five years old to receive a free book each month,” adds Lockhart. “It is free of charge, and we encourage our Bulldog family to take part in this wonderful initiative. We are looking forward to another successful year and it all starts with you!”
