Mother Georgia Mae Lacy Lanier celebrated her 104th birthday on Friday, April 15, 2022 with family members and friends, at her home in Huntsville. Mother Lanier was born and raised in Madison County and have lived her entire life in Madison County. Her earlier years was spent in the Pond Beat community, presently the home of Redstone Arsenal. Mother Lanier is the last surviving Founding Member of Progressive Union M. B. Church, where she is still a member. Her and her late husband, Mr. Felix Lanier, Sr., are the parents of four children, Thomas (deceased), Everett, Mary and Felix, Jr., (deceased).
