“It was a sincere honor to be presented with a person- ally autographed copy of the book, ”There Must Be Something In The Water” Anthology of the Fourth Generation of the Descendants of Green Pond After the Emancipation. Mrs. Abbiegail Mariam Hamilton Hugine, the Publisher, is the former First Lady of Alabama A&M University”, said William Smothers, Publisher of Speakin’ Out News.
Mrs. Hugine signed a copy of her book and presented the book at the
Speakin’ Out News office. Mrs. Hugine was accompanied by her husband, Dr. Andrew Hugine, Jr., the eleventh president of Alabama A&M University.
“The visit and presentation were very symbolic and coincided with Speakin’ Out News 43rd Anniversary, the longest-running African American Newspaper in history in Huntsville and North Alabama,” explained Smothers.
The tour exhibited other historical documents and pictures of the beginning of Speakin’ Out News.
