(Washington, DC) Rizpah Network, a non-profit organization with chapters in DC, and Tennessee, is proud to announce that it will host, the Rolling Art Exhibit & Remembrance Celebration in conjunction with Family Skate Day in honor of victims and survivors of violence on the National Day of Remembrance for Murder Victims.
The Black Girl Grieved Rolling Art Exhibit & Remembrance will be held on September 25, 2021, from 2-6 P.M. in Southeast DC. This exhibit serves as a painful reminder of the persistent violence in the District of Columbia and throughout the United States that ends lives, disrupts families, and leaves communities devastated.
Designed as a catalyst to create conversations around violence, give voice and visual to the pain caused by it, and to encourage movement to improve mood. This Interactive and “Beautifully Heartbreaking,” exhibit features over 60 mixed art portraits, various displays, & banners showcasing local DC & Regional lives lost to violence.
Hosted in Conjunction with Family Skate Day and collaborative partners, Our Family Skate Association & Style Skaters Network. The event will bring survivors/ families together for an afternoon of Family, Fitness, Fun, Art, & Remembrance. As we Honor loved ones lost to violence and help navigate families through the pain of traumatic loss.
This Event will take place at Anacostia Park Skate Pavilion located at National Capitol Parks East Anacostia Dr SE Washington, DC 20020. Event is Free & Open to the Public.
Visitors are asked to bring a picture of loved ones, wear masks, and observe social distancing with anyone other than household members.
