In Tuskegee, President Daniel K. Wims and Mrs. Daphne Wims (2nd and 3rd from left) are pictured with Janet Dixon and Clarissa Matthews, both visiting members of the Chattahoochee Valley AAMU Alumni Association.

From east to west, Alabama A&M University President Daniel K. Wims traveled the state recently, taking his message and vision to attentive alumni groups in two cities within Alabama.

Wims visited the Tuskegee-Macon County Alumni Chapter, led by alumnus Erskine McKinnon, on Saturday morning, April 23, at the Tuskegee Municipal Complex. Tuskegee alumni heard about several campus projects and initiatives over lunch.

On Monday, President Wims visited members of the Tuscaloosa Alumni Chapter, headed by alumnus and former band staffer Michael Maxton.

The group met at Central High School, where Wims discussed various University projects and events, including the new Event Center and other renovation efforts.

Maxton said nearly 20 persons attended the 6 p.m. session, including a few alums who joined online. Maxton added that the Tuscaloosa group found the President charismatic and engaged in dialogue beyond the time allotted.
